Hello,

Recently I had to reinstall the FRx Client on a Windows 7 64-bit system and the installation ran smoothly but when I access the program and click on any of the four main buttons "Row Formats", "Column Layouts", "Reporting Trees", or "Catalog of Reports" absolutely nothing happens.

The installation works perfectly fine on the server with Windows 2008 Enterprise Server R2 so I am not sure what else needs to be done on the client end.

Any ideas?

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Christopher Koeber

Try running the FRxreg67.cmd file located in the FRx directory where you launch FRx(frx32.exe) from. Note:You may need to right click and run it as administrator. Make sure you are on FRx 6.7.11027 or above.

Hi Christopher,

First note to share with all is that Microsoft FRx is not officially supported by Microsoft on a 64-bit version of Windows per this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2014857

If possible, install on 32-bit version of Windows or look to upgrade to Management Reporter if on a Microsoft Dynamics ERP (GP, SL, AX, NAV) which is supported on 64-bit.

Over the years, I have installed and used FRx successfully on several 64-bit machines.  One quick thing you could try is unistall FRx and re-install, reboot and then make sure FRx dll files are registered: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/855426

Then try install on a different 64-bit computer. I have seen instances over the years where dll file versions may be compared for a 64-bit computer that is working vs is not.
