When launching Microsoft Forecaster ExpressLink an error is displayed:

An error occurred in ExpressLink. Please see the event log for more details.

The error in the event log Command box is:

Class not registered.

Issue Cause:

The version of the ExpressLink files in the installation location of Forecaster 7.0 were the RTM versions.

These two files had a date of 3/23/2007 which is the RTM date.


To resolve this issue:

1. Check the Service Pack and Hot Fix version currently on the workstation (Help | About Microsoft Forecaster)

2. Uninstall all instances of Forecaster 7.0 through the Control Panel

3. Install the RTM version of Forecaster and ExpressLlink

4. Apply the Service Pack and Hot Fix versions from step #1

The date on the Forecaster.exe and the two ExpressLink files should have matching dates.
